Fine tuning the bodymind: breaking down the barriers

 

A retreat for discerning practitioners interested in developing a deeper consciousness of our physical and energetic bodies and learning to move from the core of our physical being towards an expanded Self awareness.
In this one-week workshop we will learn to use a unique combination of yoga and bodywork techniques and principles to break-through habitual patterns and re-establish a harmonious connection with our bodymind and increase our dynamic participation in life. We will move through a progressive sequence of breathwork, asanas, movement, partner Thai-yoga massage and somatic meditation, to expand a personal and functional practice facilitating you reaching your highest human potential.
What to expect:
• Group transportation to and from the airport
• Experience Nicaragua’s Pacific Coast
• Optional excursion to Mombacho Volcano and Granada (not included)
• Three healthy meals a day
• Private healing bodywork sessions with James (not included)
• Private yoga sessions with Jen (not included)
• Morning (vinyasa based) and evening (yin/restorative) yoga practice
• Optional morning sadhana, pranayama and meditation
• Thai-yoga massage and partner bodywork
• Day of silence to delve deeper into Self

Bios:
Jennifer Daniels, RYT-200
As an avid practitioner, Jen likes challenging sequences and enjoys working toward peak poses that expand and play the edge. She has practiced yoga for over 15 years and has been teaching since 2013. Her initial training was completed with Jennifer Prugh’s Joy of Yoga at Breathe in Los Gatos, CA and she continues her training with Julie Radar-Wellman’s Mukti yoga school. Jen’s classes balance breathwork with asanas to help students find joy in their movement while learning to connect more deeply with their bodies.
For years, she has competed in and coached equestrian vaulting, gymnastics and dance on the back of a moving horse, (www.americanvaulting.org) which has inspired her love of inversions, core strength and a thoughtful understanding of flexibility. Additionally, Jen is a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist who has worked the past eight years in a K-8 school in the Silicon Valley. Click HERE to see Jen’s website.

Therapist ~ Bodyworker
James brings extensive life experience to the table or mat, creating a safe and healing environment for his clients. He started his bodywork journey in Northern California in 2004, studying massage with Fred Mitouer, the creator of Transformational Bodywork.
During the past 11 years James has been refining his bodywork techniques, integrating a lifetime of knowledge and skills to create a unique and powerful approach to the healing and unification of the bodymind, setting the stage for physical, spiritual and mental evolution.
Using foundational bodywork and breathwork techniques, including Thai massage, deep tissue, acupressure and energy work, he facilitates the reconnection of mind and body, unlocking cellular memory, freeing your creative energy to allow you to live a more fully integrated life.
